Tickets are still on sale but Big Screens will be popping up around the city so if you can't get hold of a ticket to your favourite sport, run along to Glasgow Green or BBC at the Quay and immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Festival 2014
19 July - 2 August

Even if you can't be convinced to get into some sport this summer, the Games have something for everyone with Festival 2014 kicking off in venues across the city. There will be music, comedy, art, science and of course plenty of sport. The four venues at the heart of the festival are Glasgow Green Live Zone, Merchant City Festival, Kelvingrove Bandstand, and BBC at the Quay.

Glasgow Green Live Zone will play host to a huge free festival from 24th July to 3rd August. The main stage will showcase some of the best music from Scotland and around the Commonwealth, covering the whole spectrum from rock and pop to jazz, classical, hip hop and traditional. The Green also boasts plenty of fun family activities, with creative workshops, sporting challenges and hands-on science experiments. There will be stand-up comedy for kids and for grown ups, dance, puppets, theatre, and the all important food and drink - including local craft beers. For those looking to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the Games, there will be a Big Screen to cheer on the athletes surrounded by hundreds of other spectators.
Merchant City Festival is going to be bigger than ever with its inimitable mix of street performance, outdoor music stages, quirky shows and international markets filling the streets from 24th July to 3rd August.

In the West End the much-loved Kelvingrove Bandstand has just reopened following a £1.8m refurbishment and will showcase some amazing talent, including Glasgow's own Belle & Sebastian.

BBC at the Quay is an exciting pop up festival, running from 19th July to 3rd August outside BBC Scotland HQ at Pacific Quay. It will host a variety of BBC networks, plus comedy, sport and music.
