Joe, Sean and newest TeamJP3 member, Emma, are lacing up their trainers in our latest fundraising drive. Following on from the success of our first two events - the Great Scottish Run 10k in 2010 and the Santa Dash 5k in 2011 - TeamJP3 will be taking on our biggest challenge yet in the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon. Once again, all funds raised will be split between our three favourite charities: Macmillan Cancer Support, the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and the Accord Hospice.
Last time we managed to smash our target and raise over £700 for our charities with the GSR 10k, so this year we have set a goal of £800. It's ambitious but we know how generous you guys are and wouldn't be surprised if we fly over that amount too! The fundraising pages are already up and running so you have plenty of time to get involved. If you have any tips on training for a Half Marathon or any song suggestions for motivation then send them through the Wire.

The course
Announced on the 19th of May, the course for the half marathon can be seen in the video below taken from the official Great Scottish Run website. The ever-popular route begins in George Square before crossing the Kingston bridge, taking a run around Bellahouston Park and back over the Clyde via "the Squinty Bridge" before finishing in the Glasgow Green.
