What's with the Ads?
JP3.org.uk is a participant in the Amazon EU Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.co.uk. Any income generated will be used in a purely administrative capacity.
You may have noticed some ads on the site recently. We hope these are unintrusive and do not detract from our purpose and ethos. They are appearing because JP3.org.uk has joined the Amazon EU Associates Programme and Google AdSense although ads provided by Google do not currently appear on the site.
The Amazon EU Associates Programme rewards us with a percentage of each sale we generate by referring our users to Amazon.co.uk. Google AdSense generates funds based on a number of factors in return for displaying their ads on our site.
I would like to make it clear that the funds gained from either of these methods will not go to our charities. Any money made from our involvement with Google AdSense or Amazon Associates will go towards the running costs of the site, the domain and any other activities TeamJP3 may become involved in.
The exact amount we estimate to gain from these programmes is unknown. Google AdSense has in the past generated £6.38 over several months on another site that I ran, but the Amazon programme is new to me. Regardless we are not talking about large sums of cash, if this were to ever become the case then obviously we would look to donating the revenue.
As things stand, the domain costs roughly £8 for two years. In the past we have also incurred costs relating to the production of T-shrts for the team and entrance fees for races. It is our hope that income generated by these ad programmes could be used towards similar costs in the future.
If you think this is unfair in any way or that it detracts from our purpose as a fundraising group, please use the wire to send us a message indicating your feelings. We will take all our supporters' opinions into consideration on this matter as we do not want to cause any upset whatsoever.
